Morrison Utility Services confirms extension of work for Electricity Alliance South West

The renewed contract will run until 2017 and is worth around £150 million
Morrison Utility Services, the leading utility services provider in the UK, will continue its work providing Extra High Voltage asset replacement and new electricity substation construction and extensions on National Grid’s transmission network.
Morrison Utility Services is a partner in the Electricity Alliance South West alongside Mitsubishi, Jacobs and National Grid. The extension to the contract between National Grid and the Alliance guarantees their continued collaboration for a further five years. The value of the contract extension to Morrison Utility Services is around £150 million over five years.
Morrison Utility Services provides ‘turnkey’ services including civil engineering and electrical plant design, programme management, health & safety support as well as full commissioning services. Projects currently underway include:

Swansea North: increase to transformer capacity with installation and commissioning of a new 400KV substation

Pyle: upgrade to transmission assets with 400kV cable replacement
- Margam: replacement of two super grid transformers
