Morrison Plant Services (MPS)
Morrison Plant Services (MPS) is a dedicated plant provider to Morrison Utility Services (MUS). Its focus is on providing quality support to our field operations, to enable us to maximise productivity through the provision of relevant specialist equipment, maintenance and back-up. MPS does not provide services to third party businesses.
Safety is a top priority and MPS has a full time Health & Safety Manager who manages the implementation of our Safety Management System, and ensures that the equipment we use is safe and compliant with regulations.
By providing plant and vehicles directly, MPS is able to ensure high quality, branded plant, which contributes to our business image when working in the street.
We have developed sophisticated IT systems to ensure that plant services are matched to operational needs in order to maximise the support provided to our field operatives.
MPS has two main operational areas of focus, Vehicle Fleet and Plant Services.
Vehicle Fleet
Our vehicle fleet is extensive with over 2,500 cars, vans and lorries in use. Our fleet services include management of key supplier relationships and the agreements for leased transport, and the purchase, maintenance and compliance for Morrison owned vehicles.
MPS has specialist service vehicles and trained fitters who undertake routine maintenance and servicing at site, with only major repairs being carried out in our regional workshops. Environmental issues have been addressed through equipping the specialist service vehicles with recycling facilities for oils and consumables.
Plant Services
MPS manages over 10,000 items of general plant and specialist utility equipment from regional centres with directly employed fitters, technicians and stores controllers.
Proactive servicing and calibration of equipment is managed on a central database to ensure compliance and reliability.
In summary, MPS provides MUS with high quality vehicle and plant services, enabling effective delivery of site operations, with high quality branding and reliability levels.
