Delivering what we promise

Apprenticeships represent a key element of our long term skills development and resourcing plans.

Our apprenticeship programme delivers significant value to our business by attracting new talent and ensuring that we are well positioned to maintain and enhance our skills base. Training is a balanced mix of on-site experience and classroom-based learning.

Designed to train people from 18 years old and upwards, the apprenticeships are placed across the UK and offer qualifications recognised throughout the utilities industry.  Our apprenticeships are also recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service.

Each apprentice is provided with a thorough understanding of our business and is equipped with the specialist skills, knowledge and practical experience that will enable them to develop both personally and professionally.

The programme continues to develop exceptional people across a range of roles including electrical substation fitters, underground cable jointers, overhead linesmen and general construction operatives.

Minimum entry requirement is English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above, plus one other subject.  Applicants will need to demonstrate a willingness to learn, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and an ability to work effectively as part of a team.
