The issue of the utility sector's aging workforce is well documented. Apprenticeships represent a key element of our long term skills development and resourcing plans.
Our apprenticeship programme delivers significant value to our business by attracting new talent and ensuring that we are well positioned to maintain our skills base. Training is a balanced mix of on-site experience and classroom-based learning.
Designed to train people from 18 years old and upwards, the apprenticeships are placed across the UK and offer qualifications recognised throughout the utilities industry. Our apprenticeships are also recognised by the National Apprenticeship Service.
Each apprentice is provided with a thorough understanding of our business and is equipped with the specialist skills, knowledge and practical experience that will enable them to develop both personally and professionally.
The programme continues to develop exceptional people across a range of roles including electrical substation fitters, underground cable jointers, overhead linesmen and general construction operatives.
Minimum entry requirement is English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above, plus one other subject. Applicants will need to demonstrate a will to learn, a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Morrison Utility Services values diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. We are committed to equal opportunities.
