ALLIANCE WINS £1BN CONTRACT WITH THAMES WATER

Agility Alliance, a joint venture formed by J. Murphy & Sons Limited and Morrison Utility Services, has been confirmed by Thames Water as the preferred bidder for its new £1bn alliance.

Commencing in April 2015, and with an initial estimated value of £500m, the contract will run for a period of five years with a potential ten year extension into the AMP7 and AMP8 regulatory periods.

Under the terms of the agreement, the joint venture will work as part of the new Thames Water alliance to deliver essential, planned and reactive operational water networks support that includes repair, maintenance and all associated activities that will drive down leakage and reduce interruptions to supply for customers across the Thames Water region.

Charles Morrison, Chief Executive, Morrison Utility Services, commented: “We are delighted that this joint venture with Murphy has been chosen as preferred bidder by Thames Water for the new alliance. The make-up of our joint venture will bring the capacity, capability and innovation required to enable Thames Water to achieve the step changes in efficiency and performance that it is targeting for the next regulatory period.”

Agility Alliance is one of two joint ventures chosen to partner with Thames Water in their Infrastructure Alliance and will support the delivery of water networks services. KCD, a joint venture between Kier and Clancy Docwra, is the other preferred bidder.

Thames Water managing director of wholesale water, Bob Collington OBE, said: “Agility and KCD will join the Thames Water family, working alongside us and our other partners in eight2O, to deliver our AMP6 programme and beyond.

“We strongly believe these two alliances will create aligned goals and objectives throughout the supply chain, standing us in the best possible position to deliver our customer and stakeholder promises.”
