M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions today announced that it has won the Safe Vehicles Award at the 2017 Fleet Safety Awards, run by road safety charity, Brake.
The awards recognise the achievements of those working to help reduce the number of road crashes involving at-work drivers. Brake welcomes awards entries from organisations running any size or type of fleet, as well as from companies that provide road safety products or services to fleets.
The Safe Vehicles Award, sponsored by Checkpoint, was presented to Director of M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions Jeremy Harrison on 28th September at a gala dinner attended by almost 400 guests at the Hilton Metropole in Birmingham.
The award is presented to the organisation that has done the most to improve the safety of its vehicles, for instance through comprehensive and effective checking and maintenance procedures, vehicle specification and modification and use of technology.
Jeremy Harrison commented: “We are delighted to receive this recognition from Brake for our commitment to Safe Vehicles. The latest Department of Transport figures reveal that there was a 4% increase in people killed in road collisions in the UK last year and, for a business such as ours, there can be no room for complacency. Our in-house fleet team manages approximately 5,500 drivers and vehicles and 14,000 items of plant and equipment across all M Group Services businesses and we will continue to do all that we can to minimise this risk.
“Moving forward, our commitment is to continue to drive and deliver outstanding safety values, practices and performance for all of our plant and fleet equipment, with the continued introduction of new innovations in key areas such as vehicle safety systems, driving analysis, coaching and training.”
