Morrison Rail Services, the specialist rail division of Morrison Utility Services, has been appointed by Network Rail to manage the renewal of 4Nº rectifier transformers and rectifier units and associated equipment at the Merstham, Preston Park, Redhill and Salfords substations.
The Sussex transformer renewals project will involve complex staging designs to ensure railway service remains unaffected throughout the renewal works. The project is valued at £1.2m and is expected to run to July 2014. The scope of works includes:
