Morrison Utility Services, the UK’s largest, dedicated utility service provider, and part of M Group Services, is delighted to have received the silver award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). The ERS recognises commitment and support from UK employers for current and former defence personnel and is a scheme that has been developed by the Ministry of Defence.
Awards are given to employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to the defence and Armed Forces community. Morrison Utility Services was awarded the Bronze Award in December 2017 and receiving the Silver Award shows its ongoing commitment and support to current and previous ex-forces personnel looking for new career opportunities.
Morrison Utility Services HR Director Colin Jellicoe commented: “We are delighted to have been recognised in this way and are proud to continue to support our brave service men and women. This recognition is an honour for Morrison Utility Services and one which we take very seriously. We have been proud to hold the Bronze Award since late 2017, our Silver Employer recognition shows the level of our ongoing commitment. We are delighted that this has been recognised by the Ministry of Defence.”
Commenting on the announcement of the 2018 Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards, Minister for Defence Personnel and Veterans, the Rt. Hon. Tobias Ellwood MP said: “I am delighted to congratulate the recipients of this year’s Employer Recognition Scheme Silver Awards. A Silver award recognises the fantastic efforts of employers throughout the UK who have both elevated their commitments under the Armed Forces Covenant and provided actual benefit to the Armed Forces Community. The winners should all be proud of the life-changing impact and fresh opportunities they are providing to our Reservists, veterans, wounded injured and sick and their families. We’ve seen a record number of winners this year, which shows that the Armed Forces family talent pool is also providing a tangible business benefit.”
Morrison Utility Services already employs a number of ex-forces personnel and reservists and actively engages with the Armed Forces community through its collaboration with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), the official Ministry of Defence (MoD) provider of Armed Forces resettlement support.
