MORRISON UTILITY SERVICES WINS STAFF DEVELOPMENT AWARD AT THE 2018 UTILITY WEEK AWARDS

Prestigious award recognised bespoke Gas Network Site Manager Programme

Additional recognition with ‘Highly Commended’ Award in Supply Chain Excellence category

Morrison Utility Services (MUS), the UK’s largest, dedicated utility service provider and part of M Group Services, has won the 2018 Utility Week Award for Staff Developmentfor its bespoke Gas Network Site Manager Programme.

The Gas Network Site Manager Programme, which has already received Endorsed Training Programme status from Energy & Utility Skills, is designed to enable MUS people working as part of the Western Gas Alliance, on behalf of client Wales & West Utilities, to progress according to the knowledge and experience they acquire. Individual career progression is linked to specific training modules with the aim of the programme being to develop a pool of talent that is equipped to become the Alliance’s management of the future.

Sean Kelly, Morrison Utility Services Executive Director, commented: “From vision to delivery and a development plan, I am so delighted for the recognition that we have received for this incredible programme. It gives our people access to a career path of nationally recognised qualifications, providing transferable skills. This award represents fantastic recognition for the GNSM programme and I’d like to congratulate all involved.”

In addition to the Staff Development Award, MUS was also ‘Highly Commended’ by the Utility Week Awards judging panel in the category of Supply Chain Excellencein recognition of its collaboration withThames Water, M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions and Vac-Ex, for the design and development of the micro AIR-VAC vacuum excavator, designed and developed for the MUS Smart Metering service delivery teams working on behalf of Thames Water, often in busy and congested locations in and around London.
