We have been recognised with an impressive four awards at the 2015 Utility Week Star Awards. The awards were presented to various MUS teams and individuals for ‘above and beyond’ performance in key areas such as health and safety, customer service and business process improvement.
Staged at Lancashire Cricket Club on Friday 12th June, the Utility Week Star Awards celebrate the vital contribution of ‘unsung front line and back office heroes’ from across the utility sector. The awards presented to MUS employees were -
Customer Service Award - Scott Findlay (Yorkshire Water, Water Services Agreement (WSA) contract
The judging panel commented: “Scott, an agent on the MUS Yorkshire Water WSA contract team, receives the Customer Service Award for his 'above and beyond' attitude that won the hearts and minds of local residents during works taking place on the Nest Estate project in Mytholmroyd.”
Health and Safety Award - MUS Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) team
The judging panel commented: “The MUS SHEQ team enjoyed a landmark year in 2014 with a fifth award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Occupational Health and Safety Awards 2014. Key focus areas for the team over the past 12 months have included establishing a robust approach to avoiding utility damage and cable strikes during streetworks and the continued evolution of its long-running schools engagement programmed, educating young people about the dangers of utility construction sites.”
Team of the Year (Back Office) – MUS Business Process Improvement (BPi) team
The judging panel commented: “The MUS BPi team works nationwide to identify process improvement opportunities and develop MUS IT systems. Recently, the team has focused on improving mobile working capability, with major improvements achieved in intelligent work scheduling and routing, particularly for complex highway reinstatement processes. The team has received accolades for its application of cloud computing technologies in this field.”
Team of the Year Award (Customer Facing) - Yorkshire Water, Morrison Utility Services, Pennine Housing
The judging panel commented: “Yorkshire Water, Morrison Utilities and Pennine Housing came together to deliver a hugely successful community scheme, re-energising the Nest Estate in Mytholmroyd with fresh infrastructure and facilities. The companies collaborated to manage key stakeholders and present an affordable plan to residents during the project which demonstrated striking momentum and customer buy-in.”
