Morrison Utility Services has been awarded a four-year extension to its existing overhead line (OHL) contract with Northern Powergrid.
The principal scope of work will involve the refurbishment and replacement of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) overhead lines under Northern Powergrid’s Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR) obligations and as part of its OFGEM Distribution Review assets replacement programme. There is also provision in the contract for additional works such as pole replacement, pole cabinet renewals, new connections and specific obligations under ESQCR legislation such as vegetation removal.
Charles Morrison, Chief Executive, Morrison Utility Services, added: “We are delighted that Northern Powergrid has chosen to extend its OHL contract with Morrison Utility Services. We provide a flexible OHL service, up to and including 132kV, and our team of authorised personnel offers the specialist skills, expertise and insight required to manage a broad range of individual and turnkey projects safely, on time and in accordance with CDM regulations. Having initially commenced work with Northern Powergrid in 2011, our objective has always been to deliver consistent operational excellence across both planned and reactive works and we look forward to making a continued contribution to our client’s business vision and success.“
