Morrison Utility Services (MUS), the UK’s largest, dedicated utility service provider, and a part of M Group Services, has been presented with the 2018 Designing our Future Awardby client, Wales & West Utilities (WWU).
The award was presented to MUS at WWU’s annual Celebrating Excellence Awards which took place on 29 September. MUS Senior Operations Controller Iain Morley who works on the Western Gas Alliance (WGA) collected the award in recognition of his role in the development of the WGA Gas Network Site Manager (GNSM) programme.
The GNSM programme was introduced in January 2017 to create a structured learning and career development path that would retain and develop existing people, as well as attracting new entrants into the Alliance. The programme is designed to enable people to progress according to the knowledge and experience they acquire, with individual career progression linked to specific training modules. The ultimate aim of the programme is to develop a pool of talent equipped to become the Alliance’s management of the future.
MUS Executive Director Sean Kelly commented: “The WWU Designing our Future Award recognises creativity and innovation that has led to improved processes and new ways of working for the Alliance as a whole, or specifically within individual roles. Our people on the Wales and West Utilities contract now have access to a career pathway of nationally recognised qualifications, providing transferable skills and this award is great recognition for Iain, and for MUS as a whole, for having the vision to design and develop the programme and, more importantly, to deliver it so successfully.
