MUS has been named as a finalist in two categories for the 2016 Brake Fleet Safety Awards.
The road safety charity received a record number of first-time entries this year and MUS is one of over 60 organisations competing to win one of 15 prestigious awards.
The annual event, supported by FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme), recognises fleet operators and suppliers working hard to reduce road crashes involving at-work drivers. This year’s finalists include household names such as Nestlé, Royal Mail, and Sainsbury’s.
Ellie Pearson, professional engagement manager at Brake, says: “We’ve been incredibly impressed with this year’s entries and it’s fantastic that so many organisations are making a real effort to end the needless crashes on our roads as a result of at-work drivers. Our judges have the difficult task of choosing the winners. We wish all our finalists the best of luck.”
MUS Director of Plant and Fleet Services Jeremy Harrison comments: “The safety of our drivers and all those who come into contact with our business is of paramount importance and we are delighted to receive this recognition from Brake. As a business, we have an exceptional safety culture and the development and application of innovative technology has proved hugely influential in our vehicle specification and monitoring activity. Moving forward, we will continue to introduce new initiatives to encourage safer and more economical driving across our workforce.”
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner on Thursday 29 September 2016, at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, Birmingham.
